Nomadesk –the World’s First Virtual Fileserver for Nomadic Businesses

Saturday, February 27th, 2010

NomaDesk is the world’s first virtual FileServer and the only secure solution enabling Nomadic teams (e.g. agile, mobile, non technical) to create, share and virtually extend their business file networks without additional servers, personnel or training – with Offline continuity. NomaDesk turns your document sharing efforts into a model of efficiency—without training, complex software, expensive servers, or specialized IT consultants. Perfect for independent and mobile teams of 2 to 25 users, NomaDesk lets you intuitively manage, edit, share and synchronize all your team-documents. It does so effortlessly across company boundaries and the Internet.

Seamless integration into Windows®

NomaDesk is seamlessly integrated into Windows® with right-click options to send files or invite people to your workspace, workspaces that appear as Windows® drives, and integration into your email contact lists for quick and easy communication.

Replication

Replication is neither a peer-to-peer solution, nor a VPN-type system, but a distributed file system (realized across a set of client desktop computers) and a central server. It ensures that your teams are always working with the most current data, and that their changes are automatically synchronized through the central server.

TheftGuard™

TheftGuard™ provides that extra peace of mind, tracking and confirming each NomaDesk Dashboard’s unique serial number – with every software restart or synchronization. So you can rest assured, all sensitive data will be deleted, should a NomaDesk-enabled computer ever be reported lost or stolen.

Email2Folder™

With Email2Folder™, you can add team-documents to a workspace from any email-enabled device – including cellular laptops, public PCs, Macs and mobile phones – without installing new software. Files are sent directly into a workspace folder as an email attachment, which is separated from the email content, and both are automatically stored in a selected folder. For example, you could send files (such as photos) to any workspace, even from a mobile phone.

FileLink™

FileLink lets you distribute files without using an email attachment. By simply sending an email message to your recipients with a link to your file, they are directed to a browser page, where the file can be downloaded. FileLink™ also lets you track the history of each file, recording when a file was accessed and by whom.

Delta-Sync™

NomaDesk’s exclusive Delta-sync™ technology, which saves both time and resources because only the changes and updates you make are distributed across your Virtual Fileserver Network.

File Blogging

File Blogging lets you set your workspace as “read-only” and grant permission to guests to invite other guests. This enables you to publish files and documents to a growing audience of subscribers, dramatically increasing the File-Blogger’s reach.

Constantly being updated, the new NomaDesk Version 2.4 is quicker and easier to download. A workspace is automatically installed along with the dashboard and the software installer is now signed with digital ID from Verisign for a secure install. MS Outlook, Outlook Express (Windows Mail) and Google email clients can now be integrated into NomaDesk so that you can easily send FileLinks and invite other people to your workspaces. For mobile users, functions once only available through the desktop application are now accessible through the Internet. Version 2.4 provides overall performance optimization, scalability improvements and improved access to help.

NomaDesk is trusted with the world’s most sensitive data – Yours.

Which is Better, The New EA Wii Active, or Wii Fit?

You can watch yourself box, inline skate, and do all manner of exercises in this wonderful breakthrough in the technological arena.  EA’s Wii active aims to make exercise more fun, motivational, and addictive. For those who get bored with the same routine, they can also choose not to have the same exercise twice. Flexibility: that’s its main strength.

EA Sports Active for the Nintendo Wii has been released last May 2009, and they’ve launched a website that features Carmen Bott and Bob Greene, world class trainers and health enthusiasts. Though both Wii Active and Wii Fit were designed to be fun and functional, the former enhances the program by making the activities more “westernized.” Gone are the voice-overs that are done with thick Asian accents. People from English-speaking countries can now better understand their avatars. Moreover, the music that goes with each workout no longer sounds like it came from a decrepit 80’s radio show. The beat reflects the current trends, making movement more fun. Users of the Nintendo Wii don’t have to put their TV’s on mute because they can now listen to the improved sound quality that Wii Active offers.

If you haven’t tried the Wii Fit at all, go to your nearest retail shops and compare the two software products. It’s hard to stay motivated watching cute little Wii Mii’s move along to sounds that are totally unfamiliar to you. Wii Active, on the other hand, has been designed and programmed to fit the interests of the western culture.

Make security a priority

When choosing a mailbox or letterbox you need to give careful consideration to security measures. Although style and décor are important, particularly when choosing mailboxes for the home, protecting your postal deliveries should be top of your list. Lockable wall mounted mailboxes are some of the most robust and secure models available as they have been specifically designed to deter thieves from trying to steal mail for fraud and identity theft purposes.

Although there are freestanding models of post boxes available, if you want to make yourself less of a target to thieves then choose a wall mounted mailbox. Mailboxes that are fixed to the home will deter a thief as he or she is more likely to be detected trying to break in to the letterbox if it is set in a prominent place. Freestanding models set at the gardens perimeter are easy prey for petty criminals who can quickly and easily gain access.

Another benefit to the wall mounted variety is that they tend to have more storage space. This can help you in times when you can get to your mailbox to empty it straight away. It can also facilitate a mixture of mail from envelopes to small packages avoiding the need for delivery firms to leave packages unprotected outside your home.

The lock you choose is obviously important in deterring criminals. The better the lock the harder it is for a thief to break in. Thieves like quick and easy access and will quickly give up if a mailbox proves to be too tough. It will also deter childish pranks and acts of vandalism. Look for mailboxes made in robust steel and stainless steel with anti-pry openings. This will ensure your mail and identity remains safe.

At Mailbox Mania we have a great range of secure mailboxes in a variety of styles so you don’t have to compromise on the look.
